Course Contents
Steady from the Inside is about raising your nervous system's capacity to hold complexity. The course begins with why this work helps and where your own system tends to be most sensitive. It then builds a set of practices, adds some pictures for understanding what is happening, and moves toward relating to your nervous system with kindness and working with more demanding moments.
You can move through the segments at whatever pace suits you. Many people find it helps to spend several days with a practice before moving on. A checkmark appears next to a segment once you have saved your responses for it, if you are signed in.
Foundations
These segments introduce why nervous system regulation helps nearly everyone, and give a first look at where your own system tends to be most sensitive.
First Practices
Four short practices that use the breath, the eyes, and touch. Each can be done in a few minutes, and several can be done without anyone noticing.
The Bigger Picture
Two pictures that shape the rest of the course: raising your capacity to hold activation, and thinking of your nervous system as a network with settled places to build from. A third segment helps you find a personal marker of regulation.
More Practices and Capacity
Muscle release, sensory grounding, scanning, and sighing add range to your options, and one segment works on the body's physical capacity to hold activation.
Relating to Your Nervous System
How your nervous system communicates, and how you can respond with a kind and steady stance. These segments move from understanding its language to naming it, accepting it, and finding compassion for yourself and others, and they look at how nervous systems affect one another.
Going Deeper
Two more demanding segments. One uses everyday friction as a place to practice, and the other looks at freeze and shutdown and how to move through them gently.
Putting It into Practice
A way to bring the course into ordinary days.
